Mayor Bill Collins is happy to announce that our Leisure Path/Bike Path trail is under construction! In partnership with Regional Planning, the City of Marion, and Marion City Council, we were able to secure grant funding to support our wonderful city amenity – Lincoln Park. The portion under construction is Phase 1 of our 4-Phase plan. We plan to utilize grant opportunities to continue construction until we complete the loop around the perimeter of Lincoln Park. Phase 1 will allow our citizens to now safely travel from the Oak Street entrance or the North Prospect Street entrance to find their way to the Aquatic Center. We are excited for this expansion to Lincoln Park and hope you are too!
Enjoy this new 8-foot-wide paved path designed for activities such as walking, biking, skating, and more. This path allows access to the other existing recreational opportunities within the park, such as the Aquatic Center. Designed with user safety in mind, an access point to the trail is located on the east side of the park in the Lincoln Park Aquatic Center parking lot.
