Heritage Hall

  • 169 East Church Street, Marion, OH 43302

Housed in Heritage Hall, the Marion County Historical Society introduces guests to Marion’s history, much of which is nationally significant. Learn the stories of Rod Serling, the creator of The Twilight Zone, and Jim Thorpe, Olympian and football player from Marion County. Displays include memorabilia of Marionite and 40th U.S. Treasurer Mary Ellen Withrow, the Woodland Elves book series by author Shary Williamson with illustrations by Jay Johnston, the Buckeye Telephone Museum contents, and Warren G. Harding memorabilia. There are thousands of historical relics collected by the Marion County Historical Society.

Wyandot Popcorn Museum, also housed in Heritage Hall, is displayed under a colorful circus tent. The Wyandot Popcorn Museum is the largest, most impressive collection of popcorn wagons in the United States. These priceless wagons date back as far as the turn of the century and have been
restored to their original conditions. Heritage Hall is open by appointment for group tours.
