Harding Home

Opening July, 2020

The new Harding Presidential Center features an exhibit gallery, events space (catered lunches available), and gift shop. The exhibit gallery melds historical objects, documents, photographs, newsreel footage, and audio into a fascinating journey through the lives of Warren and Florence Harding.

Experience – for the first time since 1923 – the Hardings’ unique reproducing piano and “climbing aboard” the train car which took the Hardings west. Hear snippets of the president’s speeches and understand the purpose of an ambitious cross-country trip to the western states, Canada and Alaska.

The exhibit gallery also will shed light on a host of well-worn myths and challenge visitors to weigh in on who and what determines a presidential legacy as they examine Harding’s presidential record.
Visitors can experience the newly restored Home of the Hardings on 45-minute guided tours – much as it was during the 1920 Presidential front porch campaign. Also on the grounds, the Press House, a small cottage built by Warren Harding was work space for the two dozen newspapermen who informed the nation about the political goings-on and behind-the-scenes activities during the campaign.
