Monday, March 18 — The 1919 Solar Eclipse and Einstein’s Rise to Fame
OSUM Professor Dr. Chris Orban will delve into the history of physics and explain why the observations conducted during the 1919 solar eclipse changed the way we think about space and time. Before that eclipse, Einstein’s theory of relativity was still very new and untested, and Einstein himself was far from being a household name. Enjoy the talk and if it’s sunny Professor Orban will lead some solar observing afterwards!

Solar eclipse interesting facts and information will be shared to provide context for what’s to come! You won’t want to miss this educational opportunity presented by Ohio State’s Dr. Wayne Schlingman, Planetarium Director/Director of Undergraduate Studies.
Monday, April 8 — During the day of the Total Eclipse
Tours will be available of the Larry R. Yoder Prairie Learning Laboratory prairie to learn about plant species and how the eclipse may impact local wildlife. The Ohio Division of Wildlife will ask for help to collect wildlife observations during the total eclipse. Join us and help record animal observations during the eclipse.
