Description: This Saturday, May 30, marks the opening day of the Caledonia Farmers Market in the Caledonia Public Square. Three new vendors will be welcomed, offering a variety of products alongside returning vendors.

Produce may be a little scarce at the start of the market season due to recent rain and lack of sunshine; growing conditions have not been ideal. However, this situation is expected to improve, and soon the market will be overflowing with produce. Patience is appreciated.

The $6 senior vouchers remain available from the Market Manager, with qualifications for those 60 and over, limited to one per household. A total of 60 vouchers are available for the Public Square market. These vouchers can be used at either market towards the purchase of any product or saved for a later date if nothing appealing is found on Saturday.

This year, the $50 Department of Aging benefit will be redeemed directly at authorized vendors, who will be identified by an orange sign at their tent. The benefit can only be used on fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, fresh herbs, and honey. Vendors are also listed along with the included products.

The Public Square market will be situated on the north side of the square, stretching from Marion Street to the railroad tracks. Parking is available at the south corners of the square, either side of Marion Street, in Reece’s parking lot, and the elevator parking lot.
