Description: Step into the world of history at the Birchouse Workshop & Birchouse Education Open House! This family-friendly event features an interactive mini museum, historical warriors, hands-on activities, historic games, and opportunities to hold a sword, wear a helmet, and help a knight prepare for battle. Learn how shields evolved throughout history and discover how to get involved in historical education, reenactment, and HEMA. Free interactive classes for kids and adults will be offered throughout the day, including Help a Knight Get Dressed for Battle at 9 and 11 am, Shields Throughout History: A Journey from the Stone Age to the 19th Century at 4 pm, and 1066: The End of the Viking Age and the Dawn of the Age of Chivalry at 6 pm.
