Linn School

2473 Marion-Bucyrus Road (State Route 4), Marion, OH 43302

Built in 1897 of soft clay brick, the one-room Linn School served students through eighth grade. Saved from demolition and restored in 2002 by Merle Hamilton and Oliver Hamilton in partnership with the Marion County Historical Society and Quality Masonry Company, the project preserves both the building and the memories of its former students.

Rededicated in 2004, Linn School now offers programs for all ages, sharing stories and experiences from its past. The restoration has received state and national honors, including recognition from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
