Coonie’s Place Restaurant, Tavern, and Catering

Coonies Place, located in the small village of LaRue, Ohio, opened its doors in 1936. At first glance, it may have seemed like a modest establishment, but over the years, with the support of staff and loyal guests, it has become a vibrant community hub. More than 80 years later, Coonies Place continues to uphold the traditions established in its early days, serving as a gathering place for friends and family and a staple of the community.

Current owners Kristi and Pat Benson will celebrate 33 years of ownership in May 2026! Kristi and Pat enjoy continuing the Coonies traditions that began many years ago. One, in particular, is the importance of St. Patrick’s Day to this local establishment. St. Patrick’s Day is the biggest day of the year and includes all the necessities- green beer, corned beef and cabbage, soda bread, and celebration! Be sure to stop in for dinner, drinks, karaoke, celebrations, and more! We can’t wait to serve you.

Monday- Wednesday: 11am-10pm

Thursday-Saturday: 11am-1am

Sunday: CLOSED
