Harding Home: Opening May, 2020 – The new Harding Presidential Center features an exhibit gallery, events space (catered lunches available), and gift shop. The exhibit gallery melds historical objects, documents, photographs, newsreel footage, and audio into a fascinating journey through the lives of Warren and Florence Harding.
Experience – for the first time since 1923 – the Hardings’ unique reproducing piano and “climbing aboard” the train car which took the Hardings west. Hear snippets of the president’s speeches and understand the purpose of an ambitious cross-country trip to the western states, Canada and Alaska.
The exhibit gallery also will shed light on a host of well-worn myths and challenge visitors to weigh in on who and what determines a presidential legacy as they examine Harding’s presidential record.
Visitors can experience the newly restored Home of the Hardings on 45-minute guided tours – much as it was during the 1920 Presidential front porch campaign. Also on the grounds, the Press House, a small cottage built by Warren Harding was work space for the two dozen newspapermen who informed the nation about the political goings-on and behind-the-scenes activities during the campaign.
Palace Theatre: See this 1920s-atmospheric theatre from a new perspective when you book The Stage is Set luncheons. Enjoy lunch on the stage and a theatre organ concert after dessert.
Lawrence Orchard and Shamrock Winery: Pick your own apples from almost a dozen varieties, then visit the vineyard for a wine tasting and more.
Owens Station & Opera House: Step into this renovated Opera House and experience life and history during the Civil War Era as you tour the grounds.
Wyandot Popcorn Museum: Enjoy a guided tour of the world’s largest and only museum with a collection of antique popcorn carts, wagons, trucks, and other machinery – all restored to their original beauty.
Add something special: For your lunch, dinner, or just because, book a historical character, barbershop quartet, or one of our many other offerings.
