Stand By Your Veterans Banner Hour

Marion County Military Veterans Banners are on display on utility poles around the City of Marion, OH, from Memorial Day weekend in May through Veterans Day in November. The honored veterans, families, and friends are invited to “Stand By Your Banner” for an hour on Saturday, May 24th.
The public is encouraged to tour the impressive banner-lined streets of our city to wave and cheer with those celebrating their veteran. Over 600 banners will be on display!
Routes to tour include:
— Mt. Vernon Ave. (Rt. 95) from US 23 to downtown
— E. Center St. from US 23 to downtown
— the famous “Shoot the Loop” oval route around downtown (Center St. & Church St.)
— Oak St. (beside the County Administration Bldg.)
— S. Main St. to Delaware Ave., then loop around McKinley Park Blvd. by Veterans Park & continue on Delaware Ave. (turn around at Barks Rd. & head back toward downtown)
— S. State St. (one-way heading north from Delaware Ave. to downtown)
— N. Main St. from downtown to Stewart’s Root Beer Stand
— S. Prospect St. (one-way heading south) through the merge left onto Walnut St. to Delaware Ave.
— Bellefontaine Ave. (Rt. 739) from S. Prospect St. to the railroad tracks
