A Week of Fun with the Marion County Park District!
Get ready for a full week of outdoor adventures, hands-on activities, and family fun! Whether you love birds, bugs, or simply being outside, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Here’s what’s happening:
Wednesday, August 6 – Double Nature Fun!
Bird Watching at Tallgrass Trail | 6:00pm
Take a peaceful stroll with Riley and spot some of our local feathered friends in the evening light. Binoculars encouraged!
Night Hike at the Park | 9:30pm
Come back after dark for a fun and educational science-in-the-dark adventure! We’ll explore what comes alive at night and learn how animals use their senses in the dark. Bring a red flashlight and bug spray!

Thursday, August 7 – Nature Hike at Myers Woods | 6:00pm
Join naturalist James for a guided hike through this hidden gem! Discover the plants and animals that call Myers Woods home. A great evening for curious minds of all ages!
Friday, August 8 – Kiddos at the Park Outdoor Preschool | 10-11am
Marion Tallgrass Trail
Our final preschool program of the year! Kids ages 3–6 will enjoy nature play, exploring, and learning in a safe and fun outdoor setting.

Saturday, August 9 – Visit Us at the Caledonia Festival! | Noon-5pm
We’ll have a booth at the Festival on the Square—stop by, say hi, and learn about all the exciting things happening in our parks!
