Joy in the Park

The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (IMA) of Marion invites all community residents to its annual Joy in the Park event. It’s scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. at the John White Shelter at Lincoln Park, 879 N. Prospect St. in Marion. Musicians and groups from the IMA’s member churches will be performing during the event.

Joy in the Park is a fundraiser for IMA of Marion’s Adopt-A-Family initiative during the Christmas season. According to the organization’s website, during each holiday season, the IMA of Marion “seeks to adopt as many families that are financially able, that may have fallen on hard times. The desire of Adopt-A-Family is to help families celebrate the Christmas season with a smile.”

Following is the schedule for this year’s Joy in the Park performances and activities:

• 2:10 p.m. – Praise and worship by The Shepherd’s Fellowship
• 2:30 p.m. – Kings Temple Apostolic Church
• 2:50 p.m. – Mayes Community Temple Church of God in Christ
• 3:10 p.m. – Auction
• 3:30 p.m. – Logos Christian Ministries
• 3:50 p.m. – Cornerstone Alliance Church
• 4:10 p.m. – Auction
• 4:35 p.m. – Harvest Restoration Church
