Twelve Angry Jurors – Dinner Theatre
Apr 4 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Life is in their hands and death is on their minds.

A 19-year-old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. “He doesn’t stand a chance,” mutters the guard as the 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open-and-shut case—until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts.

“This is a remarkable thing about democracy,” says the foreign-born juror, “that we are notified by mail to come down to this place—and decide on the guilt or innocence of a person; of a man or woman we have not known before. We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. We should not make it a personal thing.”

But personal it is, with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short, arguments grow heated, and the jurors become 12 angry men.

The jurors’ final verdict and how they reach it—in tense scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat —add up to a fine, mature piece of dramatic literature. Experience the Emmy-award winning classic drama as it comes to life in the May Pavilion. Rated PG-13. Directed by Mark Holbrook. Audition date to be announced.

Presented by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company, Woodstock, Illinois.

Church Basement Ladies: Rise Up, O Men @ Marion Palace Theatre
Apr 13 @ 2:00 pm

Introducing the men of the church, this hilarious new musical is the latest addition to the Church Basement Ladies series.

You’ve met the ladies, now meet the men. This sixth, and latest, addition to the Church Basement Ladies series, RISE UP, O MEN, is a brand new musical comedy introducing the men of the church right alongside your favorite ladies from the basement.

The year is 1964, in the basement kitchen of the Lutheran Church in rural Minnesota. Told from a male perspective (with the ladies), the truth is revealed about what happens in the kitchen of the church basement in this hilarious yet touching production. As these hard-working farmers discuss “man stuff,” they unintentionally disrupt the order of the kitchen. But that’s what happens when you let the rooster in the hen house. Will good times and big laughs ensue? You betcha!
