Be A Tourist

  • Marion has many museums, natural areas, local restaurants, and entertainment venues that entice people from all over Ohio and beyond to visit. In an effort to create more awareness for and appreciation of the Marion area’s many tourism attractions, restaurants, and other activities, Saturday, May 13, 2017 shall be designated BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD day. The day features discounts and special activities for Marion County residents as part of a weekend of tourism related events. Offerings include discounts, free admission, and free gifts. BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD day is designed to remind us of these great places and to visit them again – or maybe for the first time.

Be a Tourist day kicks off in the morning of May 13 with the annual Harding Home waffle breakfast at Tri-Rivers Career Center from 7:30 – 10 a.m. Then, spend the rest of the day visiting attractions, shopping, lunching, and enjoying the outdoors at our many parks and trails.
