Since forming in 2006, PRESIDIO BRASS has rocketed to success as the face of a bold new generation in brass entertainment. By combining a brass quintet, piano and percussion instruments with fresh, original arrangements, their unique sound has become a trademark for the ensemble from San Diego, CA, captivating audiences the world over.
Through their touring show of Hollywood’s greatest hits, Sounds of the Cinema, these five young men present film music with a good dose of wit and humor that together have become hallmarks of every Presidio Brass performance.
Each member of the ensemble began his music career by joining his school’s band program. Inspired by the dedication of their school music teachers, Presidio Brass came together with the primary mission to promote music education and music appreciation in youngsters. This is why at every opportunity, performances are coupled with a master class or school program. Marion area students will have the wonderful opportunity to share in this experience!
Audiences and music critics agree: Sounds of the Cinema is “Two Thumbs Up”, a “Must See!”

Buckeye Chuck, Ohio’s official weather-predicting groundhog, will poke his head out of his winter burrow. He prepares to emerge from his personal den, in the woods behind the studios of iHeart Radio in Marion, to deliver Ohio’s most accurate yearly forecast. Not since the creation of the Doppler Radar has any weather related event been talked about with such majesty and anticipation. According to legend, if Buckeye Chuck sees his shadow at sunrise, Ohioans will have 6 more weeks of winter, so hope for a cloudy morning. He will greet his adoring public, local officials and distinguished reporters during this mass media event at the iHeart studios. At that time, Chuck will deliver the forecast for the rest of the winter. A bountiful feast of complimentary SPAM sandwiches, coffee, and hot chocolate is always served. Why SPAM? It’s “Ground Hog”!
